Remembering Me

Journeys have a starting point, right? I wanted to write about when I had begun to consciously practise caring and creating 'safe spaces' for myself. I would have written about my discovery of holistic therapies but that wouldn't be the beginning. Journals were my first safe space. Journaling came to me naturally as a child. I didn't think of it as that. Pieces of paper were safe spaces for me and writing became the only way I could make sense of my world.

Remembering and forming these words feels like honouring that child who scribbled not only on pieces of paper but also on the walls of my parent's house - yes, I spent much of my childhood scrubbing away!

Remember the last time you honoured yourself?
